Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the design of skills development programs and industry aligned IOT centers
Alliance University announced the signing of the MoU with Wipro 3D, with the aim of collaborating on the design and development of industry-aligned IOT centers, IDEA labs, online skills and skills development programs in digital manufacturing and the industrial Internet of things. According to the MoU, Alliance University and Wipro 3D would also offer additive manufacturing (AM) skills-building and advisory programs.
Additive manufacturing (or 3D printing) is ushering the world into an industrial 4.0 revolution, offering immense potential to revolutionize India’s manufacturing and industrial production landscape through digital processes and efficiency. Well-trained engineers and technicians are essential to maximize this technology. In addition, it requires new skills and capacities, both technical and managerial. Yet many of these innovations have outstripped the adaptability of the entire manufacturing workforce. As a result, there is a shortage of skilled workers, a shortage that impacts production, quality, innovation and growth.
The MoU is signed by Alliance University Vice Chancellor Anubha Singh and Wipro 3D Vice President and Commercial Director Ajay Parikh with the aim of bridging the gap between industry and the community university. The collaboration aims to develop qualified human resources and research personnel with industry-aligned skills in the areas of digital manufacturing.
