Schenck Process Group (SPG) has entered into an agreement to acquire Solids Handling And Process Engineering Company, Ltd. (SHAPE), a leading supplier and specialist of powder handling and processing solutions located in Bangkok, Thailand.
SHAPE offers solutions for almost all facets of operations and manufacturing processes where dry solids are used: encompassing the unloading and handling of raw materials, transfer and processing between processes in terms of mixing, downsizing and sieving, as well as filling.
This acquisition is a continuation of SPG’s strategic orientation aimed at further expanding its global offering for end-of-food food markets. It will greatly enhance APAC capacity in the food and equipment processing sector with great growth opportunities not only in Thailand but throughout the Asia-Pacific region. SPG will build on SHAPE’s customer experience and relationship and support the company’s future growth.
“I am delighted to see SHAPE join our group with its reputation for high quality products that are recognized by premier multinational customers,” said Keith Cochrane, CEO of SPG. “This investment represents a significant strategic opportunity for our food business and SHAPE’s established critical mass provides a suitable growth platform that complements our geographic presence in a region where we see great potential in the food market in coming years.
“We were looking for a buyer who will support the company in its future development and we believe that SPG can help SHAPE to be at the forefront of developing trends in the food market,” said Oytip Kuwunlop, former owner of SHAPE. “We can already see significant growth opportunities, and I am confident to leave SHAPE in good hands. ”
Mike Allin, former owner of SHAPE, added, “We are excited about the new owner of SHAPE who will bring his industry experience and a vast network. I hope and expect the company to experience continued success under the ownership of SPG and am delighted to support the company as it continues to expand its product offerings and reach new customers in worldwide.
The former management of SHAPE will continue to work under the new ownership for a period of time until a smooth handover and the implementation of future growth initiatives are completed.
